Proverbs 19: 17 – 23
17 If you help the poor, you are lending to the Lord—
and he will repay you!
NOTE: In my counseling nationwide by phone/Skype, I’ve given hundreds of hours beyond the paid hour. I look at ‘help the poor’ as poor hurting hearts.
18 Discipline your children while there is hope.
Otherwise you will ruin their lives.
NOTE: Godly discipline in love but with firmness. Children need to learn boundaries in life.
19 Hot-tempered people must pay the penalty.
If you rescue them once, you will have to do it again.
NOTE: Allow people to reap the consequences of their actions.
20 Get all the advice and instruction you can,
so you will be wise the rest of your life.
NOTE: Never stop learning. The more I know – the more I realize I don’t know. I ask and seek God’s wisdom daily.
21 You can make many plans,
but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.
NOTE: Praying in tongues is praying God’s perfect will. Pray always and God will direct your path.
22 Loyalty makes a person attractive.
It is better to be poor than dishonest.
NOTE: Being able to totally trust one another is a gift from God.
23 Fear of the Lord leads to life,
bringing security and protection from harm.
NOTE: Live in a God-conscious state of mind filtering all through God first – God will secure and protect you.
