When we (both spouses) allow the Fruit of the Spirit (Gals. 5) and His love (1 Cor. 13) have full control of our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength, we will have the most joyful fulfilled marriage on the earth. Marriage is following the example of God on earth as servants to each other. True headship and submission are combined servanthood – “submitting one to another in the fear of the Lord.” (Ephs. 5:21).
