Romans 12:1-2 (NLT)
A Living Sacrifice to God – “This is truly the way to worship Him.”
12 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Worship is the feeling or expression for adoration and reverence for God. I made a commitment as a child to serve God because of His love for me. My expression of worship unto the Lord is my daily choice to live as He would want me to live on a daily basis.
I call this Holy Ghost control – allowing the Fruit of the Spirit to rule my emotions and actions instead of my selfishness. This is what the scripture means to give our bodies to God as a living and holy sacrifice.
Is God the center of my life? Am I filtering every decision through this question, “Would God be pleased with this?” God desires for us to have love, joy and peace, but are we willing to be longsuffering-patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle and have self-control? (Gals. 5)
When we allow God to set on the throne of our hearts, this is true worship. Physical demonstration does not prove what is in our hearts. Do we obey God’s Word? “Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted forgiving one another even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” (Eph. 4:32)
God is also the healer of our emotional wounds. His Word said – be transformed by renewing your mind. If you are feeling unloved and unworthy, it’s God’s truth that will make you free by changing the way that you think. I provide that truth in counseling by phone/Skype nationwide (636) 448-0121.
God desires for us to love Him so much that we worship Him in our words and actions on a daily basis by obedience to His Word.
I made a decision to worship Him 59 years ago through the power of the Holy Ghost and that will never change. I’m looking daily for His return for His Bride!!!
