Today, sitting in our churches and all around us are hurting people from the pain in their past to pain in the present. The battle is in the mind. Emotional pain distorts everything in life.
The devil wants to make people feel isolated. We must face God’s truth even if it hurts. We must clean out the painful issues in our VAT by the healing of God’s Word. I teach on the VAT on my teaching site: www.patreon.com/carolclemans.
I just reposted my video teaching on how to deal with anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, etc., on FB – Life Enrichment Ministries page. There have been over 2,200 views. I reposted another video I did in 2017 entitled “God has the answers to suicide.” It has over 2,700 views.
The battle is in the mind. We must challenge every negative thought. Negative thoughts are not from God. They are from the devil and his demons. The devil does not know our thoughts. But he does know what has happened in our lives. He takes negative events and magnifies them in our mind by planting his distortion of the truth.
Satan wants to kill, steal and destroy everyone. We must take our thoughts captive to the truth of God. Ask God, “Is what I’m thinking Your truth?” If we allow it, painful emotions can destroy relationships. It happens because the painful emotions from the past can distort current thoughts and can be transferred unconsciously to others in our life.
We must NOT allow the past to define who we are today in Christ. I’ve been counseling sexual abuse victims for 27 years. One woman was raped as a child then prostituted out to men by her own mother as a young child. Even after coming to a salvation experience, she still struggles with defining herself by her past and adult abusive relationships. God’s truth makes us free – it is a process of applying God’s truth of who we are in Him now! A ‘new’ creation in Christ – ‘new’ is unused, without blemish, brand new!
God’s Word transforms us by renewing our mind with God’s truth – Romans 12: 1 & 2. We must replace toxic thinking that destroys with God’s transforming truth! It is the battle of the mind!
