God magnifies His Word above His name!

NOTE: God magnifies His Word above His name! (Psm. 138:2). From the heart of this Bible teacher and pastoral counselor. www.carolclemans.org

It has been 62 years since God baptized me with His Spirit. I was raised in my father’s church (Elder Raymond G. Theobald) – great theologian/Eschatology preacher/teacher – he received the Holy Ghost in 1925 at the age of 15. He sat at the feet of Bishop GT Haywood in Indianapolis, IN., and gained a love for God’s Word.

When my father was the pastor, the saints came to church early and prayed at the altar or in their seat. It created a sweet Holy Ghost atmosphere for any visitor. They walked into the sweet presence of God in the sanctuary. There was a spirit of respect unto the Lord and His house of worship.

My father had a sign posted in the church, “Enter to worship. Leave to serve.”

Usually, the service started with a chorus that fit the spiritual atmosphere like “Oh, how I love Jesus——.” The congregation would sing hymns together with spontaneous worship never needing to be prompted in praise.

The people loved the preaching/teaching of God’s Word. My father ‘spread a table where the saints of God were fed’ – for an hour-plus with the people always hungry for more. As a child, I sat in his Bible studies and took notes – he made God’s Word come alive. (He also practiced what he preached).

Paul told Timothy, “Preach the Word.” I hear from people across our nation saying, “We need more of the Word of God.” In my counseling nationwide, people are hungry to know how to apply the Word of God to their personal lives.

When I teach the Word for churches and conferences, people thank me profusely for sharing God’s Word and making it life applicable. It’s God’s truth that heals the broken heart and transforms the thinking of the wounded soul.

In Jesus’ ministry, there was no entertainment. He would teach for hours and the people would listen. God’s Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. It’s God’s Word that keeps us from sin if we hide it (study) in our hearts! It’s the implanted Word of God that will save our souls.

People need to be taught how to study the scripture wherein we think we have eternal life. We all need to become ‘self-feeders’ of God’s Word.

I’m praying that born again believers (Acts 2) around the world will develop a hunger for God’s Word. I’m praying that we elders will be allowed to teach the younger people about true worship – Romans 12: 1 & 2.

Developing an intimate relationship with God happens through His Word and His Spirit. We must nurture an ongoing dialogue with God throughout our day bringing Him into every situation of life. Giving God our entire self, body, soul and spirit on His potter’s wheel to mold and shape us after His will – this is being a living sacrifice (a true worshiper). We are transformed by renewing our mind with His Word!

Pornography addiction or any other sin will never happen to a person who is in an intimate relationship with God. What we fill our hearts and minds with is what we become. The experts say that watching porn is the same to the brain as participating in the sinful act. God said, “If a man looks and lusts, he has committed adultery in his heart.” Science is catching up with God’s truth about the dangers of sin.

God does magnify His Word above His name! We must create a hunger and thirst for God’s righteousness. Our home life must be centered around God’s character that produces love, joy, and peace. We are to reflect God’s glory in our body and spirit which belong to God’s (1 Cor. 6: 18-20).

I pray this stirs up the gift (Holy Ghost) that is within you!
