Families need godly fathers!

It must break the heart of God when He sees earthly fathers who are abusive to their families. God knows that earthly fathers either portray His unconditional love or through anger destroys the ability of the children to understand how much God loves them!

Abusive anger from a parent destroys the soul of a child. The earthly father is the first ‘god with skin on.’ Fathers have it within their power to destroy a soul or lead a soul to God through loving as Christ loves!

God wants to heal the souls of fathers so they will turn to Him. Then, the love of the natural father will lead the soul of his children to God! Words have the power of life and or death. Uncontrolled anger is a sin against the Lord. Read about the works of the flesh in Galatians 5. Paul said that wrath and outbursts of anger were sins and a person doing these things will not have a part in the kingdom of God!

I counsel adults daily that are deeply wounded because of an unloving angry natural father. Because of the emotional wounds from childhood, many have experienced salvation but struggle with accepting and believing in God’s love and forgiveness even after salvation.

God fully loves, fully accepts and fully forgives His children! I pray earthly fathers who have anger passed down from generations will allow God’s love and forgiveness to enter their hearts. Psalm 139:23-24 (MSG), “Investigate my life, O God,
 find out everything about me;
Cross-examine and test me,
 get a clear picture of what I’m about;
 See for yourself whether I’ve done anything wrong—
then guide me on the road to eternal life.”

Families need godly fathers who love as God loves – with kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, goodness, meekness and self-control. When this happens the family will be flooded with love, joy, and peace – Gals. 5. God is the only one who can turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers – Malachi 4:6.

If you had an angry father, please understand that God, our heavenly Father, is not an angry father. He came to earth in flesh (God was manifest in the flesh) and was willing to sacrifice His life on the cross because He loved us before He created us. He knew before the foundation of the world, that His created children would sin against Him. God knew He would have to come to the earth as our redeemer. He planned to give us the gift of salvation if we would receive it.

God had a plan before the foundation of the world. He wanted a creation that would choose to love and serve Him. That is why he created Adam and Eve. We are all descendants from these two. Because God knew they would choose to disobey Him and sin, He preplanned the salvation plan of His divine birth, life, death, burial, and resurrection. God’s heart’s desire is to have a Bride (born again believers) who chooses to love and follow Him. Before he ascended into heaven after His resurrection, He told His followers to go to Jerusalem and dwell there together until He sent back His comforter.

It happened on the Day of Pentecost – Acts 1 & 2. It was the birth of the New Testament church – the Bride of Christ. That was just over 2,000 years ago. The 120 in the Upper Room were baptized with the Holy Ghost and fire. Peter shared the new birth gospel plan in Acts 2:38. Three thousand souls were added to the church that day. This was the beginning of God’s collective Bride that He went away to prepare a special place for in the heavens!

The next prophetic event will be the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ returning in the air with the voice of a trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first and we that are alive and remain shall be caught up with them to meet the Lord in the air and we shall ever be with the Lord – 1 Thess. 4:16-18. After many things happen (7 years of tribulation, 1,000 years of peace, White Throne Judgment) that I do not have space to explain today, God will be creating a new heaven and earth (Rev. 21) and we will rule and reign with Him forever and ever and ever!

While we are daily looking for His return, we must live a holy pure life in His sight. Rev. 22: 20 – “Surely I am coming quickly!” Whether we are a husband, wife, son, daughter, friend, sibling, parent, etc., we all must be Holy as He is Holy!!!! We must be holy – set aside as godly vessels reflecting His glory in all areas of our lives!

Fathers, become students of the Word of God. Search the scriptures and teach your children the ways of the Lord – Deut. 6. There is nothing more important in this life than loving and serving God! Choose to be the man of God that will change your children’s future for His glory! “Come quickly, Lord Jesus!”
